Course programme
After training is someone COMPETENT to administer medication? No, their employer will need to formally assess their competency.
This is why we have developed a workshop and easy to use system to help managers and supervisors to do this required CQC process.
As part of their training all you staff will need to learn the theory of administering medication. This can be provided in the form of our accredited distance learning workbooks (See below for more information). In addition instruction in the practical aspects of administering medication is required, for example: selecting medicines safely, completing medicine charts, applying topical medication, inhalers, oral liquids, eyedrops etc. These practical tasks for the basis of our Assessor's workshop and the competency assessment process we have developed.
All attendees to our workshop recieve practical training in how to assess competency using our system together with the tools needed to do this. They also receive a copy of our accredited workbook, theri own guide to assessing competency and a number of useful medicine management protocols.
