V1 Award

The V1 Award is aimed at occupationally competent individuals who wish to verify assessments made by Assessors who are assessing learners working to achieve National Vocational Qualifications.

The qualification aims are to ensure that the Internal Verifier is able to:
- Evaluate the internal assessment process
- Monitor and review internal assessment audit systems
- Carry out related internal verification or moderation activities

The V1 Qualification comprises covers:
- An overview of NVQs
- The role of the internal verifier and definition of verification
- Outline of verification strategy
- Identification of assessor needs and support
- Allocation of learners to assessors
- Undertaking observations of assessor practice
- Feedback skills
- Liaison with external verifier
- Internal quality assurance
