Who should attend?
The Safe Moving and Handling Level 2 course is intended as an introduction to moving & handling activities for all staff, new starters in any workplace and people returning to work as well as for people who need specific training in manual handling. This course is also a suitable course for refresher training. Learners who undertake this course will gain an understanding why moving and handling must be carried out correctly.

About this course
No previous experience or qualifications are necessary. It is advised that learners have a minimum of level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a Safe Moving and Handling Level 2 certificate. Dynamo Concise Training also offer continuous support once you have qualified, including information about changes in law, regular newsletters and discounted prices on further courses as well as refresher courses. This course has a credit level on the QCF framework.

- What the terms hazard and risk are in the context of manual handling work.
- The principles of the risk assessment hierarchy when applied to manual handling.
- The principles, types of equipment and testing regulations associated with manual handling safety.
- The safe moving principles associated with manual handling.
- The different types of equipment designed to be used for manual handling tasks.
- The requirements for testing, servicing and examination of manual handling & lifting equipment.
- The safe operating parameters for the use of portable fire-fighting equipment.
- To be able to apply safe manual handling principles.
The course is run at our training venue for 1 day. This qualification is assessed in 2 ways. Firstly, through practical assessment throughout the course and, secondly, a 15 question multiple choice examination. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes and to successfully pass you must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15. You will need to pass both elements of the assessment to gain the Safe Moving and Handling Level 2 qualification.
