BTEC LEVEL 4 PROFESSIONAL AWARD IN SAFE WORKING PRACTICES

Summary

This Award provides civilian, law enforcement and government agencies with the training and
qualifications specified by the UK’s Health and Safety Executive for the planning and safe operation of machinery and tools in normal or confined spaces, and for work at height. Skills taught include the safe use of mobile elevating work platforms, quick assembly aluminium scaffold, and spindle-based tools such as angle grinders. Once trained, delegates will have the
ability to plan, lead and execute a safe method of working in line with health and safety regulations, while also gaining an accredited qualification in line with current requirements.

Delivery and assessment

The Award is delivered through blended learning, with an emphasis on the use and skills and equipment within the client’s environment. Realistic exercises are followed by full debriefs, to allow delegates to fully absorb learning. The course is delivered under Edexcel terms
and conditions, with continual assessment and a full quality assurance programme. Lynceus trainers hold teaching qualifications conferred by Lifelong Learning UK and belong to the Institute for Learning. Our trainers also meet the standards set by Skills for Justice, the dedicated Sector Skills Council and Standards Setting Body for the UK’s Justice sector. All are highly experienced, and are current trainers for the UK government’s law enforcement bodies.

Certification

Successful learners receive a BTEC Professional Award at Level 4 which can count towards a BTEC Level 4 Professional Diploma in Covert Surveillance. This module is one of 4 compulsory components for the Diploma.
