Course programme

This is a part day course of 3 hours duration

This is a level 1 practical course in the safe kinetic moving, handling and transferring of inanimate objects. The training session will enable students to identify areas within the operation which have the potential to harm operatives. The programme covers the moral and legal need for safe kinetic systems ans procedures and how to reduce potential accidents and injury through Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis.

The main elements of the course are:

  • Legislation, Manual Handling regulations and Lifting Equipment regulations
  • Biomechanics and the spine
  • Leverage
  • Causes of back pain and recent statistics
  • Ergonomics
  • Correct Lifting Techniques
  • Manual handling risk assessments

The course is completed with a short multiple choice test paper. This very practical and interactive 3-4 hour course can be delivered on-site.
