The Salon Training Centre is an accredited VTCT centre and provides both beauty therapy and holistic training. Courses range from beauty therapy level 2 & 3 , electrolysis, advanced electrolysis, diplomas in reflexology, aromatherapy, advanced aromatherapy, sports massage, baby massage.

The teaching staff are highly qualified and have taught and still do teach in the public and private sector. Courses are on going throughout the year and are timetabled to suit your personal life circumstances so if you can only do one evening a week, one weekend a month, weekends only then we adjust the course delivery to suit your needs. We are also happy to guide you towards work experience or placement that would aid you in making that step into the right beauty or holistic job or self employment. What I would highlight: As a mature student, I felt that the Salon North End training academy was the best option for me as it meant that I was still able to work full time and pursue my studies in the evenings. The NVQ level 2 and 3 courses were both practical and theory based, covering all aspects of beauty therapy and I learnt all of the skills that are required to become confident and competent in the industry, meaning that I was able to secure employment after the first year. I would recommend training in the private sector for anyone who wants to receive a better quality of learning at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere.
What could be improved: There was a lot of waiting around at times, the course needed more structure and organisation in terms of lesson plans and assessment criteria to see what had been completed already and what was outstanding, punctuality of teaching staff could be improved or better communication to confirm the start time of each lesson.

What I would highlight: I was able to both work and study at the same time which is one of the reasons why I chose it. The second reason was to learn in a small group and have almost one on one teaching to gain the most from the course. I was very pleased that my teacher helped me secure a job in beauty therapy before even finishing my level 3.
What could be improved: Not having a solid dead line for finishing the course...but this did relieve the pressure and stresses that come with some courses, so ultimately a positive.
