In this course you will read prose passages equivalent to Sanskrit IGCSE option B. This will be achieved through a continued expansion of vocabulary (approximately 250 words) and the acquisition of complex grammatical forms. You will be introduced to Sanskrit prosody and the sloka meter in which the Bhagvad Gita is written.

By the end of the course, with lexical support you will be able to read simple verses from Sanskrit epics, and prose appropriate to this level.

Athematic verb conjugation & verbal classes; tenses outside the present system (perfect, periphrastic, perfect, periphrastic future); formation of nouns and adjectives; verbal and nominal compounds; secondary verbal conjugations: the causative, desiderative, and the intensive forms; the infinitive.
Classroom contact with interactions in both Sanskrit and English. To fully benefit from the course, you should be
prepared to commit at least 2-3 hours to homework a week.
