2. Course description Learners will have the opportunity to hone their skills and tackle more advanced projects according to their suitability and previous knowledge and skills base.Learners will be shown how to take accurate body measurements and use them to adjust the pattern to fit before cutting. Tacking the garment together and adjusting the fit, inserting zips, sewing button holes, making jackets (speed tailoring), inserting sleeves, making collars, cutting checks and one way prints.

Entry requirements For Beginners and Improvers: for those who have had no experience, those who need a refresher and for those continuing with Garment making from previous coursesWe welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Surrey Adult Learning values and supports equality and diversity by promoting fairness and respect at all times. 4. Equipment required A basic sewing kit is essential. New learners will need to discuss an individual project with the tutor. Please email the Customer Services Team at prior to the first session with details of your desired project.
