I will show you how to sew a concealed (invisible) zip. I will also show you have to sew a lapped zip, used if you do not want a concealed zip; compare the two and see which you prefer. Finally, I will show you how to sew an open zip into a small bag. When you book you will be sent instructions on how to make the pattern for the small bag.

You will need a zipper foot, which is generally supplied with your machine for the lapped zip. You will need a concealed zipper foot and a general zipper foot for concealed zip.

What are Coffee Chat Stitch and Sew Sessions?

I have planned these sessions for those of you who want to have like-minded company when you are sewing. Sewing can be quite lonely, we are generally in a room on our own. I find that I can sometimes be much more inspired if I sew whilst chatting to others. What could be nicer than sewing with other people. This has not been possible during lockdown and even after lockdown it will still be great to “meet” new people and getting inspired by people we would never bump into in the “physical” world.

Each sewing session lasts for one hour, followed by 15 minutes of questions and answers. Every session includes a different project. The sessions are interactive, not the traditional online sessions that you have to watch on your own. You can enjoy sewing and chatting with everyone and I will be there to guide your sewing and answer any questions you may have along the way. All you need is a computer and internet connection. Sessions take place over Zoom, which is free. When you book you will be sent a link, simply click on the link and it will take you through. It only takes a minute or so, but I will log on about 10 minutes before, so you can log on early and be ready to start on time. Book now and let's get sewing......
