Course programme

PRESENTATION

This is an intensive classical acting course conducted by the LAMDA Faculty, for students with some performance experience.

The object of the course is to provide a more confident knowledge of poetic drama and to encourage creative attitudes towards solving the problems of performance.

Classes, will be given in:

-Voice (Pure and Applied)
-Movement (Pure and Applied)
-Singing
-Historic Dance
-Stage Combat
-Alexander Technique
-Textual Analysis and Scene Study

Whilst the course is based upon the works of Shakespeare, playwrights such as Marlowe, Jonson, Beaumont and Fletcher will also feature, as will the Jacobeans.

Lectures on the social and historical background of Shakespeare’s world are also provided.

The classwork will culminate in an ‘open rehearsal’ for students and tutors.

The workshop includes a 3 day trip to the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford-upon-Avon and performances at London theatres.

Housing is available for all London workshops.
