SIA Door Supervisor Training

If you want to work as a door supervisor in England and Wales, you need to have a licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), which was set up by the government to regulate the private security industry, including door supervision. Without a licence, you can’t legally work on the door of licensed premises.

To get an SIA licence you will need to satisfy three requirements:

Pass an identity check,

Pass a criminal records check, and Possess a recognised door supervisor qualification.

What is the recognised qualification I need?

Holding a recognised door supervisor qualification is part of the SIA’s requirements to obtain a licence to practice. Guardwatch Training offers the Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors. In order to achieve this qualification, learners must successfully complete two examinations:

• Examine and discuss scene prevention.
• Explain and Demonstrate effective Physical Intervention Skills
