Signature Level 2 Certificate in British Sign Language (Wednesdays)

Accelerated Level Two BSL is suitable for those who:

· have passed Level One BSL

· want to boost existing sign language skills with Deaf people to intermediate standard

· are Deaf, and wish to gain a qualification in their native language

· are family, friends and colleagues of Deaf people

· are studying for personal development

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

· converse in sign language without misunderstanding

· demonstrate and respond to an increased range of vocabulary

· express basic grammatical features with clarity and accuracy

· convey information clearly and accurately, including producing a signed narrative

· understand a signed narrative with some accuracy

· respond accurately to signed questions relating to a signed narrative

Uniquely, BSLworks' course structure builds on the Signature Qualification Specification for Level Two BSL (Intermediate) with a skills analysis that identifies individual learning gaps. Class numbers are limited to 8 places per course, to maximise one-to-one attention. Students need to have either passed Level One BSL or equivalent ability to be eligible.
