Single Phase A.C. Circuits (Higher National Level)
Aim:
To develop knowledge and understanding and apply basic electrical concepts to solve single-safe a.c circuits problem using complex notation.

Length of Study:
18 weeks with tutor support.

Entry Requirements:
It would be beneficial if the candidate had an understanding of AC theory. This may be evident trough the possession of relevant SQA units.

Contents:
Solving problems involving basic electrical concepts and theorems. Solve single-phase a.c. circuit problems using complex notation.

Study Method:
Home-based study with tutor support for help and advice.

Assessment:
Written assessments with some calculations and reports on measurements.

Comments:
It would be beneficial for students to have access to Eletronic Simulation Software, as well as circuits and measuring equipment.

Cost:
£105 + £12.75 SQA Fees.
