Snowsport Scotland is the National Governing Body for all snowsports that take place on snow and artificial slopes in Scotland.These include: snowboarding, alpine, freestyle and nordic skiing. The Scottish National Ski Council was formed in 1963 by the Scottish Clubs to represent their needs and co-ordinate certain activities, and was renamed Snowsport Scotland in 1998.Our five key aims are:* To foster a vibrant network of quality clubs* To strengthen the economic base of the governing body* To foster a coach education structure and effective deployment of coaches* To foster the development of performance and excellence among Scottish skiers and snowboarder* To foster a competitions structure which will be attractive and accessible to skiers and snowboardersSnowsport Scotland is a limited company that receives income from its membership, through specialist services, activities and development grant funding from Sport Scotland (formerly the Scottish Sports Council).
