Social Care in Community Course Since the 1970s the provision of services and support for people who are affected by problems of ageing, mental illness, mental handicap or physical or sensory disability to be able to live as independently as possible in their own homes, or in "homely" settings in the community, has been a key issue facing social workers. About Social Care In this Social Care course you will receive an introduction to the problems which have inhibited the development of community care since the 1970s. This course also will provide you with a greater expertise and knowledge in relevant areas of the commissioning of services. It will explore areas of key legislation with application to current practice, and examine various methods of contracting and its processes, in order to best assist the population in need.
