Soft Furnishing - Advanced

This course is suitable for students who have a Level 2 or equivalent skills in soft furnishing. If you are unsure of your suitability please contact the college prior to enrolling.

The course will enhance your existing skills whilst learning new ones to undertake various projects during each course.

These are semi structured courses with all students working on the same project.

7187/A - September
This course will be devoted to making a loose cover for a chair without arms or a stool. Students will need to provide their own chair or stool.

7187/B - January
This course will cover making items of bed furnishings including pillow cases, sheets, duvet covers or a throw. All techniques will be covered and students choose their own project.

7187/C - April
As this course is only 8 weeks long, students can choose either to make a cover for a lampshade or make a cushion cover which can be enhanced using decorative techniques.

Please bring your sewing kit to each lesson.

Please bring your own chair or stool, limited storage is available.

Students will also need to purchase calico from the college to produce samples.

No formal assessment however a college certificate of achievement will be awarded to all successful students.
