She also runs a bespoke soft furnishing company, and can offer students both clothing advice and help students to begin making their own cushions,blinds and home accessories. She is currently re- mounting the successful production of Peter Pan in preparation for a transfer to America

Claire-louise has spent many years as a Theatrical Costumier, & Wardrobe Mistress. She has make costumes that have graced the national theatre, welsh national opera and regent's park to name a few. Some of Claire-Louise's costumes have been exhibited at the Theatre Museum in London. CL began sewing at a young age, and has a lot of experience both making clothes, and fixing them. Having travelled around the world with the Royal Shakespeare Company Cl was responsible for the day to day repairs of all the costumes in the shows, and has become an expert at fixing things on the spot backstage.

Course programme

SOS Sewing Surgery

A 3 hour drop in session - Suitable for any level

  • Choose when you want to drop in between 10.30 am & 2 pm on tuesdays, Fridays and some Saturday afternoons
  • The perfect session to work at your own pace, on anything you fancy! Bring along a selection of your own projects.
  • Take the opportunity to learn how to take in trousers & skirts, shorten/lengthen hems, repair small holes, customize a favorite garment and anything else you need!
  • Why not make your children's fancy dress costumes!

Small groups in our classes allow lots of individual attention. We want are students to leave with a project finished, or a problem resolved
