History

Specialist Operational Support Ltd had been in existence for over 4 years and was a product of the First Response College. We were set up originally as the training arm of the First Response Charity Scheme. The scheme was so successful that many NHS trusts have now absorbed the schemes into their own ambulance services, testament to the training and quality of service provided.

Advantages of studying here

We seek to provide responders with only the necessary and relevant training that is required. We do not attempt to introduce advanced techniques that take paramedics years to master. We centre upon patient assessment and the ability to recognise life threatening conditions and treat until the arrival of qualified help.

The London NHS trust and the MoD use us as their supplier for this training and we do not only provide training we train actual responders who are on the streets. We are one of the only providers who train vocational providers of First Response Care.

Description

We are a HSE approved First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid and medical training provider. We are a market leader in the training of First Responders and are accredited by Edexcel to deliver the BTEC Level 2 FPOS -I (First Person on Scene Intermediate)course. We are a supplier to the Ministry of Defence, local councils and the London Amubulance Service. In addition we provide training for preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector and are approved for service personnel to use enhanced learning credits..

Our Staff

The Directors of Specialist Operational Support are ex British Royal Military Police officers with over 40 years of combined experience in Asset and Close Protection for the Royal Family, The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK and US Military, the US State Department and numerous commercial and industrial clients.

Our directors continue to deliver operational support at the highest level whilst also working as operational paramedics and first responders across Europe and Latin America.

The SOS Group maintains a unique blend qualified and experienced international consultants and tutors from across the globe, including ex Ambulance Service Directors, ER Dept / Accident & Emergency Consultants, Paramedics (UK, US, Latin American and Australasian), Special Forces, BA Pilots, Royal Air Force First Responders, Metropolitan Police trainers, US, UK and Latin American Fire Fighters, Offshore oil and gas medics, flight medics, police driving instructors and academic tutors.
