Content review:
The Sports Massage Techniques Diploma course enables therapists, in particular those newly qualified, to further their skills and become more confident in their routines. Participants will learn new techniques to work with common conditions presented by clients such as adhesions and muscle tightness as well as painful trigger points. In the first instance candidates will learn to observe their clients' posture and acquire palpating skills, enabling them to identify changes in texture and tension or tissue damage.
Outcomes:
- How to observe posture
- Palpation technique
- Understanding of trigger points and how to alleviate them
- Neuromuscular Technique and Soft Tissue Release
- Participants will need to adopt their own good posture at all times
- Participants will acquire necessary experience to perform a full massage routine incorporating advanced massage techniques.
This Diploma does not enable therapists to call themselves Sports Massage Therapists but is designed to introduce them to a selection of techniques used in that discipline.
