About this course
A tariff of 120 UCAS points for A/AS or 160 UCAS points for BTEC National Diploma is normally required although other entry routes may be considered especially if in relevant disciplines.Mature students must apply via the Admissions Tutor.

Course Content
The course is offered in partnership with Swansea University. It aims to develop the student's ability to carry out the operational roles relevant to sports science, learn from a scientific point of view about the human body, its anatomy and physiology, and how health, fitness and sports performance can be maintained and enhanced.
The College has excellent Exercise Performance Laboratory, Gym and Sports hall facilities.
This is a two year program and includes 16 modules delivered over four semesters.
Course units include:
Anatomy and Physiology, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology and Sports Psychology.
Teaching/Assessment
There is a mixture of learning experiences including theoretical lectures, laboratory work, practical activities and coursework projects.
Assessment includes practical work, coursework and examinations.
Progression
This qualification can lead to:
- Higher Education: progression onto BSc (Hons) in Sports Science.
- Employment: in areas such as Coaching, Personal Training, Sports Analysis, Graduate Entry into Police & Armed Services, and Sports Manufacturing.
Additional Information
Students are required to attend an induction [residential] at a cost of approximately £40.
Students will be eligible for college and university sports teams.
Application is through UCAS [code 006C] however an interview is recommended. An interview is essential if you are not in the UCAS system.
