Reviews on St David's Catholic College

Description
Welcome to St David's Catholic College... As Principal and Chair of Governors at St David's Catholic College, Cardiff we would like to welcome you to the college website. We hope it will give you a flavour of what our college is about and encourage you to visit us on one of our Open Evenings. St David's enjoys a unique position in educational terms as it's the only Catholic sixth form college in Wales. It was founded by the Archdiocese of Cardiff to be a place where faith is respected and encouraged, a deeply human place where people find understanding and friendship. Although admissions priority is given to students from our four Catholic partner schools, we welcome students of other faiths and backgrounds. Whoever you are, and whatever it is that makes you unique in the sight of God, we will value that uniqueness at St David's. We are very proud of our reputation for academic excellence and student support, confirmed in the 2006 ESTYN Report on the college, in which St David's was praised for its high standards of learning and the achievements of our students. The inspectors commented "the quality of care, support and guidance is outstanding" and noted that "the grades learners achieve on A level courses are frequently outstanding". Because we're based on one compact campus, near the centre of Cardiff, we're a real community with a very supportive atmosphere. The choice of subjects here is surprisingly large - far more than can be offered at most schools. It is our hope that this strong academic and caring ethos will inspire you to reach your full potential. - Mark Leighfield, Principal. Canon Ieuan Wyn Jones, Chair of Governors.
