The stable attendant, known as the groom, is the person in charge of taking care of the horses: the figure who, while we are away from the stables, literally takes care of "to groom", cleaning, brushing and grooming our horse. Not only that, the groom is the person in charge of managing the stable (stable worker) and therefore ensures a clean and well-kept environment for the horses he follows. Among the duties of a stable attendant we remember: cleaning the box and the horse, dressing the horse, saddling and disellating the horse. In addition to the basic tasks she takes care of the rope work with the horse and the carousel. The expert Groom, in addition to the ordinary management of the box and the horse, takes care of the mounting of the horses on the level (no barriers, trestles and obstacles). To become a professional groom it is necessary to attend at least one dedicated training course and then gain a lot of experience. From an academic point of view it is always good to keep up to date, even when you are already a professional, and increase your knowledge with extra courses to improve professionalism and personal satisfaction. In Italy there are various academies and equestrian schools that promote courses to become a groom, including SEF-Italia and FISE.
