The stable boy is the one who takes care of the horses' care and the cleaning of the stable. Typically he works as an employee at stables or riding schools, or at farms. The activity mainly consists in cleaning the stables, in particular in arranging the bedding, distributing the forage to the horses and handling them. Complementary activities can be the cleaning of horses and their harnesses. He can also carry out medical aid interventions. No special education is required, but it is helpful to have experience in caring for animals. The professional figure of the stable boy is also included among those provided for by the collective agreement regarding domestic work (classification in "Level A"). The stable is a building used as a shelter for animals. In particular, the term "stable" often refers to the place used for the maintenance, foraging and resting of cattle. A stable is usually designed according to the specific animal that will have to use it while maintaining some fundamental characteristics. Each construction of this kind must have two fundamental purposes: to provide the animal with everything it needs without external help and to prevent it from escaping, as well as to protect it from atmospheric agents. In order to do this, all the stables are usually fenced, closed or provided with perimeter areas for single animals or groups of animals; and provided with an area in which each animal can feed (often referred to as a feeding trough).
