About this course

- Have an understanding of the moral structure of Hell.

- Have some information about some key characters and the way Dante viewed them.

Course programme

In this lecture we will look at the moral structure of hell in all its divisions according to the sins. We will read extracts from specific cantos in order to have an understanding of the punishments that the souls have to suffer in relation with the sins they have committed whilst alive. The lecture will also touch on some of characters that Dante choses to place in hell.

This is a lecture and is therefore tutor-led. Facts will be presented through the use of video clips, presentations, hand-outs etc.
