Content
The course is aimed at students who wish to:
  • Step-up to other courses at Tresham
  • Improve essential skills to enhance employment prospects
  • Improve their study skills.
We will also help you decide which direction to take next.

Depending upon your chosen programme, you will be able to work towards a wide range of qualifications including basic health and safety, literacy and numeracy and employability skills.

The 15-hour programme consists of:
  • 9 hours classroom work
  • 2 hour workshop
  • 1 hour tutorial
  • 3 hours of Employability skills (lower level) or vocational (higher level)
Classes are kept deliberately small to maximise attention to students' needs. Students work at their own pace.

Assessment
Initial assessment will be made to determine starting level. Assessment is ongoing throughout the programme. A learning plan will be drawn up and revised regularly.

Once students are considered by the tutor to be in a position to pass an assessment they will be entered.

Progression
We understand that people often find it hard to choose between two or three areas in which they are interested. We will help identify particular skills and abilities needed to help you choose your options for vocational progression.

You will be able to progress to a Level 1 or Level 2 course at the college or to employment or to an apprenticeship.
