This course is designed to provide a relevant qualification for people who are working as a classroom assistant, or for those working in a voluntary capacity in a classroom situation. It is also open to those who have no previous relevant experience, but who wish to train as teaching assistants.

Who The Course is for
This qualification prepares learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding required for employment as a teaching assistant.
Course Content
Students will comple 4 Mandatory Units:
-Develop professional skills and knowledge for supporting teaching and learning in schools
-Support teaching and learning
-Explore and understand how to keep children safe
-Support children's development
Plus 1 Optional Unit
40 hours (minimum) placement

Entry RequirementsLearning & Assessment Methods
This qualification is assessed through a Portfolio of Evidence.
Qualifications Gained
NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Progression Opportunities
Learners may wish to progress onto the NCFE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
