- Order unique dishes at the restaurant
- Identify the basic ingredients of Japanese cuisine
- Differrentiate between other asian cuisines
- Appreciate the presentation of Japanese food
- Develop your awareness of regional and seasonal food when travelling to Japan
- Discuss Japanese Haiku and Japanese thinking in relation to popular dishes.

The wide range of dishes and ingredients across the regions of Japan, the seasonality of food, Haiku poems related to food and eating, the Japanese concept of Feast for the eyes', the Japanese passion for food though cinema, basic expressions related to food.
Pair work, discussion, group work using visual support i.e film extracts. No. LJW18: Everything about Sushi (25/11/17), LJW61: Japanese Etiquette (17/02/18) and any Japanese language courses at various levels.
