Hello, I am in the process of wanting to become a private hire taxi driver in Newcastle under Lyme, staffs. I am required to have obtained :- A BTEC Level 2 qualification in the “Introduction to the Role of the professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver” OR an NVQ for Taxi and Private Hire Drivers - Provide evidence from Burslem College (01782 603603) of passing a Topographical Test relating to the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme. - Certificate of attendance for Safeguarding/Child Sexu

Course programme

This proogramme has been specifically designed to meet the current requirements of many licencing councils.

Qualifications obtains are:

BTEC L2 Award in Transporting Passengers By Taxi And Private Hire

NVQ Level 2 in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving

We have put the two qualifications together and have funding for both.

The BTEC can be run at times to suit e.g. 10 x 2 hour sessions; 5 x 4 hour sessions.

The NVQ will be run along side the BTEC, which means that evidence and knowledge gained can be used in both qualifications.
