Teaching English as an Additional Language (TEAL)

TEACHING ENGLISH AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE (TEAL) WORKSHOP
This workshop explores the different approaches of introducing English as an additional language to young children. It discusses first and second language acquisition and examines practical ideas for introducing language through the Montessori materials and the creative curriculum. Workshop students will also investigate the Montessori approach to reading and grammar. TEAL students are guided in preparation for the written examination

Compulsory for MCI TEAL Course students who are working towards their
Stage 2 Certificate .
This workshop may also be of interest to practising teachers.

Number of contact hours: 30 over 6 days. Time of lectures: 10 am - 4 pm. Students have the opportunity to accrue up to a maximum of 15 hours extra by practising with the Montessori materials for a maximum of 3 hours per day, outside of lecturing hours.
