The Professional Development Award (PDA) Teaching Practice in Scotland’s Colleges will provide you with excellent continuing development (CPD) opportunities. The course is ideal for you if you are currently employed in a teaching role in further education, or equivalent. Further details of the topics covered are provided in the section "what you study" below.You will be assessed continuously throughout this course with the assessments taking the form of observation of your teaching, lesson planning and reflective assignments. There is no final examination.

You will be required to attend college for 2 hours per week for 20 weeks, as well as being observed twice in your own teaching situation.
PDA Teaching Practice in Scotland’s Colleges entrance qualifications are given below, but please note that relevant work experience will be taken into consideration. You must teach a minimum class contact time 2 hours per week throughout the course.
- You must be teaching a minimum class contact time of 20 hours over the time of course (ideally 40 hours) and be delivering assessed qualifications to adult learners
- You need to make your own arrangements for your teaching class contact time. This will not be arranged by the tutor team
