Whether you’re interested in textiles for fashion, interiors or products, this 10-week introductory course will provide you with an in-depth knowledge in a short space of time.

Throughout the course you will learn about the nature and context of textiles, develop your visual skills and explore different methods of using materials and tools for your own textile ideas through drawing, collage and manipulation techniques.

Each week will be composed of hands-on workshops, discussions, individual assignments with personal feedback from your tutor and further information on the making of textile fabrics.

You will work through a theme, exploring how you can develop initial ideas into your own expressive textiles and artwork. You will explore traditional and manual techniques. This course will look at how Textiles are made within the Industry and the new technologies being used. By the end of the course you will gain an appreciation and understanding that can be used to develop and print your own beautiful textiles.

During your course you shall also be provided a tour and talk by BA Textiles team member.

Whether you are starting in the textile industry or you are a creative student looking to increase or develop new skills for a higher level of study, this course is ideal for anyone with an interest in fabrics, design and the textile production process.
