Theatre Technology BTEC National Diploma Level 3

About the course:
This dynamic hands-on course is geared to school leavers and mature students who are looking for a career in theatre. Our goal is to make the training as practical as possible, so that students get really involved in the set construction, lighting, sound, stage management and scenic painting.

As well as allowing young people to acquire new and valuable skills, the course has strong connections with the local theatre companies and is proud to assist them in all aspects of theatre productions. This year our students have been involved with productions at the Nuffield, the Point, as well as The Mayflower theatre.

By forging such strong local links, our students are often offered employment in their chosen area at the end of the course, although some choose to continue their studies at University.

Success Story:
Recent successes have included a former student who has progressed to Production Manager on cruise ships with the P&O line, a student from last year's course who has set up his own production company prior to going to university, and a mature student who is now lecturing on the course that he studied at City.
