Course description A great starting point for anyone with artistic ability and a keen interest in a career within the make-up industry; This course provides a great starting point for anyone with artistic ability and a keen interest in a career within the make-up industry., , Whether you can see yourself behind the scenes in a theatre, on the set of a film, working in high fashion on catwalk shows or, as a demonstrator for high artistry brands such as MAC or Illamasqua, this course will provide a foundation to build on., , In addition to a wide range of make-up skills and techniques, you will learn wig making as well as hair styling and dressing techniques. Many avenues of work within our industry will expect a make-up artist to be able to provide a hair and wig service in addition to application of make-up and as such, you will develop these skills throughout this course. , , On completion of the course, you will have the opportunity to apply to University to further increase your knowledge and skills or, you may decide to enter the workplace in any number of positions. ,

3. Entry requirements The minimum entry requirement for this course are: four GCSEs at grades A*-C. This must include English Language, Maths and Art., , An Art related subject e.g. Photography, Graphics or Textiles may be considered if Art has not been taken as an option, but would have to be of a B profile and be supported by a portfolio of facial and figure drawings. In all cases a portfolio of art work will need to be shown at interview. GCSE History would be preferable but is not compulsory., 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method The course is unit based and the units and written assignments are assessed through a grade related criteria. The grades that are awarded are Refer, Pass, Merit or Distinction. There will be an overall grade awarded for the qualification.
