The tire dealer specializes in the maintenance, repair and replacement of vehicle wheels and tires (Article 1 of Law 122/92 and subsequent amendments). It carries out its activity mainly in tire repair shops and garages. The tire dealer can carry out the activity both as an owner and as an employee of tire replacement workshops or vehicle repair shops. Inside a car repair shop, the tire specialist carries out all the operations for checking and adjusting the tires and wheels with computerized equipment (tire pressure, toe-in, alignment and geometric alignment of the wheels), diagnoses and repairs and fitting new tires, in compliance with the technical indications and safety regulations on the repair of motor vehicles. Furthermore, a good tire dealer can explain to customers the defects of vehicles and the characteristics of the various types of tires, and recommend the best solutions for their needs. He also sells tires and other related accessories such as alloy wheels, snow chains, maintenance accessories etc. The activity of the tire dealer develops throughout the year, not only when it is time to change tires for the winter or summer season. Optimal wheel conditions, as well as the obligation to have tires with certain requirements, are the basis of the safety of the driver and of all those who may cross on the road: a badly mounted or worn tire can in fact cause damage and even serious accidents. If a tire dealer is looking for work, he can find him as a skilled worker at interns in tire replacement workshops, in overhaul centers and in the assistance centers of car dealerships, or as a tire seller at specialized dealers. Normally he is framed with an employment contract, the weekly timetable follows the opening hours of the garage.
