2. Course description Over the three years you will study the following modules: • developing business skills  • business finance • international travel and tourism development • managing the service encounter • entrepreneurship • personal and professional development (including placement) • legal environment  • responsible and cultural travel and tourism management • managing research and information  • human resource management  • management techniques   A five-month industrial placement period during the course gives you first-hand experience of working in the industry. Our students visit a wide range of establishments throughout the world, or arrange their own placements closer to home. There are opportunities to attend study tours abroad – most recently to Disneyland Paris – as well as an annual calendar of local and national visits designed to enhance your studies. We have strong links with local, national and international companies such as Servisair, Thomas Cook, East Midlands Airport and Manchester Airport, the National Trust and Centreparcs. All of our tutors have excellent, in-depth knowledge from working in the industry themselves.

Entry requirements You will need between 120 and 240 UCAS points from: • at least two A Levels at ‘A2' • a BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma • International Baccalaureate Applications from students with a relevant NVQ Level 3 are welcome. Industry experience is an advantage. Mature students with relevant experience and/or qualifications, including an Access to HE Diploma within a relevant area, are welcome to apply. 4. Assessment method Each module is internally assessed through individual or group assignments, which can be practical, making use of local industry contacts.  Examinations take place in the second year.
