The traffic light operator is a figure closely linked to urban centers, as he is the one in charge of maneuvering and maintaining traffic lights. The traffic light, also called traffic light lantern, is a light signal used mainly in road traffic at crossroads, pedestrian crossings and in other situations where it is necessary to regulate potentially conflicting traffic flows. Traffic lights were historically among the first light signals and are still one of the most popular today. According to a universally recognized convention, traffic lights can have only three colors, red to indicate the stop, green to indicate the green light and yellow-orange to warn of the imminence of a change of state, between green and red. . With this premise valid for everyone, not all nations use the same conventions regarding the sequence of appearance of colors; in Italy the color yellow is used to announce the imminent arrest order, in other states it is also used in combination with red to indicate the approach of the green light.
