Since first automobile was patented by German mechanic and inventor Karl Friedrich Benz in 1886, automobiles and their systems have changed beyond recognition. Back then, nobody could even imagine that in the future automobiles will be even driven by the computer without any human assistance. Transport engineers have achieved incredible success - they have been developing and improving systems, designed and marketed the vehicle driven on alternative energy sources.
Transport Engineering study programme is aimed at preparation of specialists, who are able to solve transport engineering tasks, analyze, create, improve various types of vehicles, machines and their technical equipment. Also, transport engineering specialists can evaluate vehicles and machines' condition, impact on the environment and even economy.
The internal combustion engine is one of the greatest inventions that have changed the world. These engines turn chemical energy into mechanical force. A variety of apparatuses (e.g.automobiles, locomotives, ships, and planes) that facilitate human labour have been developed on the basis of such engines.
The students of the study programme acquire both knowledge of constantly evolving systems, such as internal combustion engine, and knowledge of alternative power technologies, such as electricity, hydrogen, hybrid transmission driven or pilotless vehicles.
In the course of studies, students are provided with an opportunity to take part in sports car design or improvement contests.
The design and development of a modern vehicles requires a myriad of specialists, such as electricians, automatics professionals, IT and programming specialists, etc.
In the course of Automobile transport engineering specialization studies, students learn about the automobile architecture and dynamics, movement peculiarities, and diagnostic methods.
