- Exercise judgement in the selection of best technical solution to transport problems.
- Demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of the regulatory framework within which your transport operations are conducted.
- Effectively manage transport service contracts and contractors.
- Supervise vehicle loading and load security.
- Create safe and effective journey plans and supervise operations in accordance with the HSE policy, industry best practice and local legislation.
- Create efficient and cost effective transport schedules using manual methods and understand the role of IT systems in transport scheduling.
- Contribute to the development, planning and monitoring of transport operating budgets using fixed and flexible budget techniques.
- Calculate the cost of the transport services provided and relate this to units of output and traffic volume.
- Relate provision of transport to customer requirements and make sound judgements regarding prioritisation.
