2. Course description We all rely on the travel and tourism industry to make sure our holidays are as enjoyable and as amazing as possible. The sector is responsible for everything from helping us find the best places to visit and booking a trip, to checking our bags at the airport and making sure our accommodation is up to scratch. This 90-credit Level 3 Diploma in Travel and Tourism is an exciting and demanding qualification that will help you develop the skills and expertise to forge one of a number of rewarding careers in the industry. You'll learn all about the entire travel and tourism business, understanding how it operates and why it's so successful. You'll cover all aspects of the industry, from marketing destinations to the transportation infrastructure required to get passengers there. You'll focus on customer service too, exploring how travel agents operate and the roles & responsibilities of holiday reps abroad. You'll look closer at the kinds of entertainment provided to holiday makers, and even get to research a number of countries and destinations in the UK, Europe and long-haul! Assessment method Throughout this course you'll be assessed at regular stages, using methods such as group presentations, the design and creation of holiday posters, role plays, written reports and research, and controlled map work assignments. You'll need to be able to take part in work experience opportunities and extra-curricular activities too, which may include time during the evening or weekends.
