Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
This is a very popular course and interested potential students are advised to get their applications into the college as soon as possible after the Open Evening.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by continuous unit coursework for the BTEC Level 3 qualification which has the value in UCAS points of three A Levels. Over the two years the students will be expected to produce (by a wide range of assessment methods) up to the equivalent of sixty pieces of coursework. The City and Guilds is by on-line multiple choice tests, taken at the different times during the two years.

What can I do afterwards?
Successful completion of the course will help gain entry onto Higher Education courses, including Travel and Tourism Management courses. Alternatively, with the wide range of units studied, students are ideally placed to access many areas of the industry including airlines, tour operators and other tourism providers.

Are there any additional costs involved?
Students will be required to purchase three course textbooks and the World Travel Atlas - all of which can be obtained through the College at cost. For the two years this will be approximately £85. Additional costs will be for trips and visits in both the UK and overseas. Examples of these are - New York (2007) £440; Disneyland Paris (2009) £225; day trip to London £18; Portsmouth Historic Dockyard £15 and Gatwick Airport £10.
