Course content
This Diploma is in the early stages of development and further details will be available at our Open Evenings in the Autumn 2009.
You will study the Hospitality and Catering industry by working with others to develop a business which provides functions and event catering.
Investigate the hospitality industry, legislation and procedures in the hospitality industry, customer service, building and developing effective teams, managing people, finance and budgetary control and running a hospitality business.
As well as the above, the diploma will include specialist learning such as food hygiene and health and safety.

How Will I Be Assessed?
Your assessment will be through practical tasks related to the functions and event catering and written assignments supporting these. You will also complete an extended project.

What Could I Do Next?
Having acquired the generic skills you can progress onto university, employment in a wide range of catering businesses or further training in related areas. You might choose to take an entirely different direction in a similar or unrelated field of study.
Any Special Expenses?
Transport costs to work placements. Some transport cost for group visits. Chefs whites, shoes and uniform for food service.
