The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Bricklaying - qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to achieve this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can continue to work within the construction industry or progress your career further.

The candidate needs to have a minimum of 1 year experience within the construction industry.

Paul has significant experience in the construction industry both on site and as a self employed carpenter. Paul has been an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier for a number of years and is very experienced in supporting candidates to gain their NVQ's.
To achieve your NVQ first you will have an interview with your assessor where an action plan will be arranged. NVQ’s are achieved through on the job assessment, during which an assessor will arrange to visit you at your place of work where you will be monitored and questioned by the assessor.
Your assessor will sign off units when the candidates are ready. The assessor will test your bricklaying knowledge, understanding and work performance to make sure you can demonstrate competence in the workplace. Your assessor may then advise you on what they have observed, giving you guidance or advise if you need it
They will then tell you if you have passed the assessment as competent for single units or the whole NVQ.
The NVQ is made up of 5 mandatory units and a choice of optional units. You will be required to demonstrate competency via assessment in the workplace or in college undertaking specific tasks. You will also be required to demonstrate the relevant level of understanding to support your practical skills.
