TV & Film Production BTEC National Diploma Level 3

About the course:
This programme aims to develop both your academic and practical, work-related skills and you will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. It is equivalent to 3 A Levels which means when you have finished the course you can choose whether to go into higher education or employment.

Course Content:
Candidates must complete the 5 core units, the 2 mandatory specialist units, and 11 other specialist units.

Core Units
· Research Techniques for the Media Industries
· Pre-Production Techniques for the Media Industries
· Production Management Project
· Working to a Brief in the Media Industries
· Critical Approaches to Media Products

Specialist Units (Compulsory)
· Understanding the Television and Film Industries
· Film and Video Editing Techniques

Other Specialist Units include,Single Camera Techniques,Film Studies,Music Video Production, Interview Techniques for Media Production.

Learning Style:
Students will be taught in the media studio or classrooms, using appropriate equipment. Work will include group work and individual tasks.

Assessment:
Assessment is assignment based. There are no exams.

Progression:
The internationally recognised BTEC course allow you to progress into employment, or continue to develop your skills at University. There are a variety of career opportunities to explore.

The BTEC National Diploma in Media Production is the equivalent of three A Levels, and it is possible for you to progress further into higher education. BTEC National Diploma qualifications give enough UCAS points for university applications.
