Two Day Introduction to Aggregates and Lime LocationDorset Centre for the Creative Arts Course Overview Presentations, demonstration and workshop on how to specify, mix and use lime mortars. Two lectures, presentations and workshops to inform on the ingredients, production and uses of lime mortars. There will be opportunities for discussion with the professionals presenting the course. Day 1 - Aggregates 20th June 2016 The first workshop will explain the types and uses of aggregates in lime mortars. The presentation, demonstration and hands on workshop will give a valuable insight into the important role that aggregates have in lime mortars. Choosing the correct aggregate for the job is a critical role for the specifier or practitioner. Day 2 - Lime 27th June 2016 The second workshop will introduce participants to the different limes used in mortars. Lime Putty, hydrated Lime, Natural Hydraulic Limes and Quick lime. Using presentations, demonstration and a hands on workshop to explain how they are best used for the correct purpose.
