You will study subjects within a range of computing environments and will have the opportunity to explore a range of platforms and use your creativity to design and develop your own ideas. The focus of the course is to provide you with the skills to set you on a path to working in the computer games industry as well as sufficient knowledge to support work in other digital media industries. The units studied will reflect a growing interest in games design and animation – digital, computer generated images or traditional stop-motion. You will study Computer games design, Flash for computer games, 3D modelling, Computer game platforms and technologies, Digital graphics and3D environments/animation. The course is awarded by the prestigious UAL (University of the Arts London) and is exclusive to the Academy and BMet in the Midlands.

Course programme
Entry Requirements
You will need 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including maths and/or English, alternatively you could hold a level 2 diploma at a merit grade or above. You will also be asked to bring a portfolio of work to your interview.
Delivery and Assessment
Assessment is by coursework and written assignments.
Progression
You can progress onto a wide range of degrees in related areas or enter employment as a web developer, games tester, computer animator or a computer games designer all industries that are going through significant growth.
