In these 3 sessions we will follow the construction of the Paris’ metro through the 20th century. We will look at Paris urbanism and planning to understand its connection with the past and the future. We will also understand how the metro became a key element of the Parisian psyche.

This is a lecture, and is therefore tutor-led, nevertheless active participation is encouraged. You will also learn by reading chronological key points and quotations, looking at pictures and paintings, watching movies….
