Enjoy the city as much as you can. The university has lot of societies, join one or more, you will meet interesting people and make lot of friends! And go to Lake district! I simply enjoyed.

It is quite expensive you always have to think about the price in euros. look for Morrison, it's one of the cheaper supermarket. 30 pound was the average of a normal grocery shopping every two weeks maximum.

The cost to study there can be high, but it is the same all over the United Kingdom, the university provides multiple accommodations with different price-range, but it is also really easy to find a private accommodation through a website specialised for students (unipol.com). The city is rather small but beautiful for a former working class city, the nightlife is huge and there are a few good museums to visit (City Museum, Art gallery and Royal Armouries). It is also very easy to take the bus, the train or go to the airport and visit some other place, there are also tons of organised travels.
