Unvented Hot Water

This is a one day course which aims to provide the candidate with an understanding of Building Regulations and how to comply with Regulations in relation to unvented hot water storage systems, identifying faults and other regulatory requirements. The training covers design, service, installation and maintenance of unvented hot water storage systems. Pre-course self study also needs to be undertaken.

This course is aimed primarily at practising plumbing and heating engineers who already have a knowledge of the fundamental requirements of hot and cold water systems and central heating systems, or students who are nearing completion of a plumbing and heating vocational qualification at level 3.

All candidates who complete the training through our centre will be given training and reference materials. Course books must be ordered through the centre prior to the training course to enable self-study.

• Unvented hot water storage systems and their operating principles
• Design and installation of unvented hot water storage systems
• Maintenance of unvented hot water systems
• Other Building Regulations
• Sealed central heating systems
• Demonstration followed by practice and formal assessment

There will be formal assessments and if passed will result in ERS issuing a certificate of competence in Section G3 of the Building Regulations Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems. The qualification is a regulatory requirement. It is also a requirement for anyone who wishes to undertake Solar Heating training. This certificate is valid for 5 years.
