Using Adobe Photoshop Elements Improvers

The course builds on the Using Adobe Photoshop Elements Beginners course, further examining the tools, functions and facilities of Adobe Photoshop Elements, enabling students to watch and practice techniques for improving their own or provided images.

The course aims to give the student the confidence and ability to undertake improvements and enhancements to his/her own images on his/her own computer at home.

In order to achieve the aims the student will both observe and practice the following techniques using the appropriate Adobe Photoshop Elements tools, facilities and functions:

• Creation of reflections and mirror images
• Creation of panoramic images
• Use of the Type tool
• Creative borders
• Combination of images into montages
• Combination of images for print presentation
• Seamless combination of images (how to cure the blank sky!)

Specific requirements for joining the course include: Completing the Using Adobe Photoshop Elements Beginners course - or equivalent knowledge. An understanding of basic computer terminology, together with the ability to put images onto the computer, either by download from a camera or memory card, by scanning or by transferring from CD or the Internet.

At the start of the course the student records his/her existing skill levels in the tools, facilities and functions of Adobe Photoshop Elements, and these levels are continually monitored during the course.

The student will be encouraged to practice the techniques learned between the classroom sessions at home, either on their own images or those provided on the course, but there is no mandatory ‘homework’.
