Course programme

The CAPACITY model developed by FSMD and owned by the Housing Corporation and the National Housing Federation is available free of charge to all housing associations in England.

Design & Content

Design: The course is designed with an emphasis on practical use of the CAPACITY model. It is computer based with participants using their own laptops (or sharing one between two if so desired).

Real but disguised RSL case studies are used to illustrate the forecasting routines and the financial analysis package.

The seminar also demonstrates the support facilities of the CAPACITY website. If time allows participants can ‘de-bug’, study and review their own RSL’s own data, if available

For this reason attendance is limited to a maximum of 16.

Content:
Based on surveys of the requirements of recent participants the course content is as follows:

1/4 day introduction to main functions of the CAPACITY model
1/2 day on understanding the analysis
1/4 day on data issues and the use of sensitivities & scenarios

Anyone interested in Excel-based financial modelling should consider our course on Business Planning Models for HAs.
